Savvy Mav Tip #26: DIY Cupcake Wrappers

The other day I was making cupcakes and I ran out of regular sized cupcake wrappers.  I made a few cupcakes by pouring dough straight into the [greased] tin cups but I really didn’t like the extra grease.  So I took some parchment paper and cut it into large squares–maybe 5″ x 5″ and arranged it into the cup by folding the edges.  It won’t stay in the cup but don’t worry, once you add the dough, it will weigh down the paper.  I cut down the edges after they baked so I wouldn’t have so many excess corners flapping around.  I’m happy to say it worked pretty well and I got these gourmet coffee-house looking cupcakes as a result!
