Savvy Mav Tip #14: Shop at Ross

I love Ross.

I don’t know if you have ever had an encounter with Ross but it is one of those stores like Marshalls or TJMaxx where you get name-brand goods for not-so-name-brand prices.  They have items ranging from clothing to accessories to bed to bath to kitchen.  They are the kind of store that needs an afternoon and a load of patience to sift through misplaced and mismatched selections to find the just-right-where-have-you-been-for-my-whole-OHMYGOSHitsonlyFIVEDOLLARS?!? kind of thing.

So I recently had to move (lame long story there, part of my collection of excuses for not writing recently) and set up a new place.  Thankfully I stowed away most of my things and had to purchase very little to get myself up and functioning in my own little cozy studio.  One area I did need to outfit was my restroom.  Since moving to CA three years (oh my goodness, has it already been three years?  Sheesh, time sure does fly by!) ago, I have not had to furnish a rest room with bathmat, shower curtain, or other accessories having had roommates who had those things or having glass doors not needing a curtain.  I wanted to find something lovely but did not want to spend a fortune on a cute coordinating restroom set.  So I scoured the countrysides’ Rosses (yes, I went to three in one afternoon) but the quest was a total success and I was able to purchase a beautiful shower curtain, bathmat, shower caddy and hand towel ALL for under $20 total. And yes, the items came from different stores and match brilliantly.

Ta-daaaah!

Ta-daaaah! I already had the shelf, bins, and fern in beautiful blue/green pottery so the curtain and bathmat fit in perfectly! Walking into my restroom makes me smile out-loud with delight.

:)

Yes, I am rather pleased with myself.  Thank you.

Bonus Tip: I also got these cute little cast-iron pans in which one can make, as pictured, deliciously over-sized “pizookies,” personal pizzas, or really any other fun treat one can come up with to bake in a tiny cast-iron pan!

Mmmmmm...only $5.99 for the set!

Mmmmmm... and only $5.99 for the set!
